Felow Bears don't dispair. When I was building T5, I had similar problems with all the technology bits and pieces. I found a few weeks in sunny Spain and the problems with the baggage handling system all went away ! - or maybe they didn't seem so important ?!

Hi - Fred here. One thing to try before whacking it with a hammer:

- do a soft reset: hold down the power button (on top) & the home button (at the bottom on the front) for 10 secs until the apple logo appears

In theory this should take the iPod out of recovery mode

Oh dear Fred is flying out hammer in his paws right now! If it's any consolation our Minder's Iphone has broken too so there's obviously some gremlins about. Glad you're surviving without though - guess the lack of a phrase book makes for some interesting mimes! Hope you continue to enjoy yourselves though.\\
